Price: SGD148/- (inclusive of 10% GST and 7% service charge), usual price: SGD308/-

The hotel is 5 to 7 minutes walking distance from nearest MRT station: Chinatown (NE4/DT19). The exterior structure of the hotel seemed old, however the lobby of it was pretty well-designed.

The cleanliness was pretty satisfied and the receptionists have a warm-welcoming attitude.

The hotel room itself was spacious as expected.

However, one thing that was disappointing was the view which was not like shown in AGODA.com

The WiFi connection at night was horrible.

Bed was big enough to squeeze four of us, there is a sofa bed at the side for another to rest his body on.

House-keeping staff was fast responsive when I requested for extra toiletries.

The night was very much delightful, as my friends helped me celebrated my birthday, got me my all time fav DURIAN strudel from Ritz Apple Strudel, bought my craving zi char from some random coffeshop which turned out to be wonderful, stocked up on drinks, alcohol & snacks for the night party, got ourselves super high for the clubbing at FClub (virgin experience for all of us) which were freaking awesome.

Habitat Coffee
233 Upper Thomson Road, 574355
Operating Hours: Tues to Fri (1100 to 2230hrs)
                           Sat & Sun (1030 to 2230hrs)
                            Mon closed

It has been sometime going to café for their main course. Actually, when my friend and I were deciding which café to go, and saw “Habitat Cofee” on Instagram, I came across people posted about their Home-Made Churros. That was the main reason why I fixated on heading to the café for it.

When we arrived, the staff greeted us friendly with a smile, and guided us to a table for 2. The café’s practice is like most of the cafés in Singapore, once you’re ready with your orders, then proceed to the counter and tell the staff.

The waiting time was reasonable. Shortly, our foods were presented on the table in front of us. Last to come was the Home-made churros, thought that “Save the best for the last”.

However, when I have the first bite on it, it was rather disappointing. The sugar coating was overwhelming, and the inner layer of it was kind of dry.

Surprisingly, the chili crab linguine I ordered was to my liking.  The presentation of the smoked salmon matcha pesto pasta was brilliant. Finally, the latte art was nicely crafted out on our latte and irish-cream coffee.

Sunday Folks

Remained~

Sunday folks Definitely not us, we are the Thursday folks. What a lame way to start the post? I guess I need to brush up on my vocabulary and grammar.

It has been sometime I came back for the waffles ice-cream. Madly craving for it for a period of time! Since is the first time for this girl, it’s my honor to bring her to try it.

Interesting drink station, notice the bird shaped tap knob

Menu

Weekdays just so much better than weekends. Now they came up with a reservation system and the portals can be easily accessed by us right outside the café. There are two different types – takeaway and dine in. Don’t choose the wrong one like us, waiting outside like an idiot to dine in.

I don’t feel that the wait was too long as wooden bench was provided for us outside the café.

Once we sat down, the friendly staff passed us the menu and asked whether “is it our first time here?” Although I came before once, there were changes done to the café like more seats inside the café and the way of ordering is different.

Every table will be provided with a slip of paper with the table number written on it, hence when you are ready to order, just bring the paper over to the counter and place your orders. I guess that is a cost-saving tactic the café came up with, as I used to remember they would give each table a wooden block with the table number carved on it when you have completed your orders.

Even though is a weekday, the café was still packed completely and you can expect your orders would not be ready that instantly. However, is worth the wait.

Before coming back, I have this thinking, would the waffles ice-cream no longer as nice as before? When the dessert was served right in front of me, I quickly took some shots of it, and can’t wait to get a taste of it.

That first taste proves me right to come back again for more. I am really delighted that the taste is still as great as before. Never fails to give a treat to my taste bud.

Even the girl also love it, however she felt that hers not as special as what I ordered. She got the sea salt gula melaka ice-cream flavor.

I will definitely come back for more the next times.

A Sweet Date with Sogurt

Surprised that Suntec City has changed so much during these years, the shopping mall has expanded until it seemed like a never-ending walk for me. I was wondering why my bestie called me, I called her back as I missed it. So she was actually trying to guide me how to find the way to ‘Sogurt’ where she was working at.

I was wondering how bad can it be? Is it really that hard to find the way to there? To my astonishment, I didn’t realized there is another side of Suntec City that I've never explore before ever since they started the expansion.

“Ok, back to the main subject for this post”, that is SOGURT.

Bestie introduced me the 2 new flavors they offered – pink grapefruit and blueberry. So I got a mix of both and topped with strongly recommended roasted almonds & my all-time favourite lychee pop. At last, the highlight of it was the new sauces they came up with – Caramel Cookie sauce.
There are many other sauces available like Milk Chocolate Wafer, Peanut Butter Crunch, and Chunky Raffaello Sauce.

Please don’t hesitate to ask for free samples from the warm & friendly Sogirls. Even if you don’t ask for it, their first few sentences when welcoming the customers would be “Would you like to have some free samples?” That is so welcoming, Service CCC

Virgin Trip to Bangkok

Ever since during poly days, everyone was talking about Bangkok trip. Tempted to go by many people around me, seeing the food they ate, loots they purchased and places they visited were seemingly exciting.

Many times were thinking when would be my turn to be there and posting pictures of attractions I visited.

& YESsssss, Finally 22 April 2015 has arrived, my turn to taste the mango sticky rice, see the "ping pong' show which I didn't and venture into the land of "TRANS" if you know what I meant.

Checked-In ~ Time to flyyyyyy
What a heavy traffic flow, I guess MRT is a better alternative?
Didn't expect our hotel would be so hard to find. In the end, taxi still our best friend.
Finally arrived at the hotel, was draining my energy even before the trip officially starts. Checking-in-progress. ICheck Inn Residences Sathorn (5-8 mins walk to BTS Thanon Chan)
Hotel's Lounge.

Gym, however it was not as equipped.

Ma-Ma Shop's Corner.

Yay, we staying at the highest floor. Level 8's lobby

Yogatz

The 1st time I knew about this yoghurt was through Instagram posts as usual I would clicked into the location tagged and browse through posts by those who went before.

It has been a while since I wanted to try this, and today was my off day & I have the feel so I head down myself to have a taste of it.

What I've Ordered:

Delight (SGD$6.20/-) - Consists of 01 crunch, 03 fruits & 01 sauce of your own. (Just like llaollao)

Crunch - Oreo
Fruits - Blueberry, Mango & Strawberry
Sauce - Dark Chocolate

Tadaaaa ~ the creation

Review:

Honestly, it just took me maybe like 3 minutes after I sat down and took this picture. As you can see from the picture, the yoghurt has started to melt that INSTANTLY!!

Personally, I felt the first taste was not to my liking, maybe to those who missed the traditional taste of yoghurt, you will like this. As I felt it was rather sour, and the dark chocolate syrup was not sweet enough and kind of tasteless.

As for the fruits, I quite like the mango, their mango are those that i love, not the sour-ish hard in cube form. Theirs are those soft and sweet ones and immediately melt in your mouth. Strawberry was a bit sour, as for the blueberry, it was normal.

The biscuit that has the logo imprinted on it, it was nothing special, I guess it is just there to make it less alike like llaollao.

Everyone Deserves... @ Assembly Coffee

26 Evans Road, Singapore 259367

Operating Hours:

Tues to Sun (0800hrs – 1900hrs)
*CLOSED on Mon

A HOT Tuesday afternoon on 7 Apr 2015.

I thought of heading down to a cafe for brunch with my friend before meeting another friend to get present for our friend's 21st.

I was browsing through the cafes i have taken a screenshot of previously and decided to have a try @ Assembly Coffee after consideration.

Took a cab down as the place was kind of inaccessible, is around Singapore Botanical Garden, near the cafe "Hatched" too.

As usual, would browse through #Instagram for recommendations, and Ta-Daaa... what you've seen were what I've ordered.

Ordered:
  1. Smoked Salmon and Eggs
  2. Egg Mayo Sandwich
  3. Salted Caramel Waffles
  4. Latte
  5. Mocha
Reviews:

Their waffles are really good, crispy at the outside with a soft touch in the inner layer. The size and thickness of it just right. The ice-cream mixed with the caramel syrup creates the best combination with the waffles.

For my Smoked Salmon & Eggs, there was a mixed of sweet and sour taste on the toast, I believed the sour taste comes from the yoghurt spread on it. As for the salmon was not to my liking as it was a bit too salty, the eggs were nice though.

The Egg Mayo Croissant was delicious, although I just had a bite, the croissant was crispy, not like the average type.

As for the beverages, I was kind of disappointed with the latte which was not even served in a cup like the Mocha. The latte art was not as fantastically shown in their webpage.

Would I go back again?

To be honest, yes I do want to go back again for their Honey Classic Toast which I did not manage to get a try on, as there were too many choices for us to try out for our this 1st visit.

To be continue...
